The Big Fish team has been on the receiving end of a lot of suggestions/criticism lately. Readers have complained of negative vibes, vulgarity and narrow mindedness apart from amateurish approach towards writing. We would like to convey to our dear readers that we pay as much attention to your criticism (especially when it is an attempt to garner attention) as your local corporator does to your grievances after the elections. However, one of our readers went to the extent of writing a 'Positive Article' for the magazine and we definitely did not want to disappoint him. So here is Big Fish Mag with the latest update: A Positive Article
A Positive Article
I wake up early morning to the fresh stench of over-flowing nullahs and the blaring radio at my neighbour's. I am very optimistic as I look forward to checking my Inbox so as to go through the horde of placement offers that I receive almost every hour. Why shouldn't I; after all I am an Engineering graduate from a reputed university with decent grades. Fellow engineers have all bagged their dream jobs; so what if some of them are being paid five thousand per month and are over-worked like mules! At least they are a part of the INDIA SHINING revolution.
Buoyed by the fresh influx of optimism I switch-on the television. As always Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Priyanka Chopra make it to the Breaking News section. I pity the two; living under constant media scrutiny can be such a pain and especially when you are occupied with important work every single minute of your life. So busy are these youth icons that one could not make it to his own felicitation ceremony -- which happened to the Padma Shri award -- while the other couldn't find time to cast her vote. If it weren't for the responsible media, I would have made the grotesque error of choosing a P. Sainath or a Binayak Sen as my inspiration. But in a nation where the media decides who we ought to look up to, why bother!
Feeling secure I switch the channel to MTV where a bunch of very interesting youth is fighting an intense battle of deceit, back-stabbing and hypocrisy to fall in Love. There is a fair amount of skin showing and a healthy dash of obscene language, but it is all okay since the show is being aired on MTV -- a channel epitomizing the youth and India's march towards cultural progressiveness
Feeling ecstatic I decide to read the papers where the news of Anil Ambani evading taxes on the 'multi million birthday gift' presented to his wife grabs my attention. Blinded by sheer love for his wife the guy smuggles a luxury yacht into the country. Top bloke, I say! There is also the usual rape-murder-terrorism but hey, on a day as fine as today, why bother!
Feeling on top of the world I decide to pen down my observations and submit it to this hate mongering, abuse hurling magazine, www.bigfishmag.com, in an attempt to change their perspective of the world. If my article is published I would consider it time well spent. Fingers crossed!
