Whoever thought that a semi-naked, senile Rajesh Khanna (Amritlal Chopra) and Laila Khan (Beena Chopra), making kiss-the-neck love culminating into an asthama attack would make for a good cinematic experience is the Anti-Christ the world has been eagerly awaiting. The shabby movie plot deserves brevity induced description and so here goes: Rajesh Khanna is old and cannot make love to his young wife because of his asthama attacks which menacingly show up just before his wife hits an orgasm. Rest of it is very self explanatory but for the uninitiated let me be generous enough to include a few keywords. Sex Starved, Car Driver, Two Timing, Husband Murder Plot, Apparent Success in Husband Murder Plot, Husband back unscathed, REVENGE!
The movie did however provide a few laugh out loud moments although completely unintentional. Rajesh babu spinning a globe and calling it “world ka atlas”, every character in the film using the same towel, the driver being electrocuted by the Singapore police using a headphone and headband assembly studded with cheap imitation diamonds, and this one scene where the bullet hits a villain on his forehead and he drops his gun but somehow forgets to die and continues combat with his bare hands, are just a few things that my recovering brain can dare to recall.
Moving on, babu mushai is over-acting galore, Laila Khan just won’t complete a scene without her undergarments or cleavage at display and Sudesh Berry (Inspector Singapore) is desi-karate personified. Cinematography, music, screenplay was sentenced to doom the moment Rakesh Sawant (director and Rakhi Sawant’s brother) took charge of this audacious project.
The parting note in the movie reads: “Love never ends” but I am very glad that the movie did!
